Not surprisingly, while at least one of his blog posts excoriates the Calif State Bar, there is no mention of his own proceedings before the State Bar Court. Finally, Observer, you are too kind when you note that "very old" attorneys are apt to err in the way he did. His mistakes weren‘t simply those of one who is befuddled by age. The State Bar determined that his fee (over $700k) was excessive, and his services incompetent, in the matter under scrutiny. Observer Jul 15, 2017 Yes, Timothy D. Naegele has been disbarred. At the time, he had been admitted for approx. 49 years. It‘s fairly well known that very old attorneys are more likely to slip into a malpractice error, as the Bar included Mr. Naegle did. Note also that disbarment, rather than some lesser punishment, seems to have resulted from his stubbornness in refusing to cooperate with the disciplinary process, and keep his contact info current with the Bar. This is another frequent feature of disbarments. Nevertheless -- ad hominem attacks on Naegele personally don‘t have much persuasive value in rebutting his viewpoint on the subject at hand. Personally, I disfavor entirely the (increasing) practice of putting names on institutions in return for large monetary donations. But if we are to stop doing that, and further go back in time on it as well, we have an awful lot of sorting out to do. Bill Lukens Jul 14, 2017 Change the names-- in a nano second. An attorney in good standing Jul 14, 2017 The earlier comments to this article by Mr. Naegele should be considered in the context of Mr. Naegele‘s recent discipline and disbarment by the State Bar: calbar.ca.gov/courtDocs/13-O-12380-3.pdf Timothy D. Naegele Jul 14, 2017 P.S. Quotation marks are altered by this site to read & Timothy D. Naegele Jul 14, 2017 The fixation of the Left and far-Left with altering our institutions is absurd. Clearly, they can be subjected to the same standards. Martin Luther King and JFK were serial philanderers; and Barack Obama is a black racist. If one has any doubts whatsoever about Obama, please read his book "Dreams from My Father." It is all there in his own words, which undergirded eight years of his presidency.
