Something sucks in our system when high paid law years get 500 bucks an hour to fight while people die! Of course, the parties could consider the public good and find a way to merge their knowledge to split profits and sell the product. But, that means lower attorney fees and a win win is not what people are wanting when they hire these firms.

  • Are these people for real? Is patent more important than human lives? Did the good Judge explore accounts of profits option? Duh?

Judge Sleet, Regina Murphy, jack blumanthal, and the CEO of Edwards should have to call each heart patient and personally explain how the "public interest" in patent rights trumps the public interest in saving lives. How do these people sleep?? I like money as much as the next person, but are there no limits on greed?
